I think it’s time for mainstream marketing to do something unique. I think it’s time for Eureeeka!
What is Eureeeka!? It’s an idea I’ve had for quite some time. In short, it’s a directory based on the adult internet marketing models of Thumbnail and Movie gallery postings(TGPs and MGPs).
I know what you’re thinking: isn’t that just a “link exchange”? Well, no. It’s not. You see, link exchanges are usually places on fully commercial sites, and they’re usually on the back end of a website. They’re not the “main event”, if you will.
So, if you compare it to anything, it’s more of a directory. With one big difference: to get listed, you need to put a reciprocal link of mine (either text or button) on a main page of your site(one that is easily seen and viewed daily by your visitors). Why do I ask for that? Because I want your visitors to come see Eureeeka!.
Now I bet you’re thinking: What?! I don’t want to lose my visitors to you! Essentially, you really don’t lose them to me, they are coming to Eureeeka! and will see the items you’ve submitted along with other webmasters. It’s basically capitalism in it’s best form, with all the competition built in.
Right now, Eureeeka! is in its fetal stages. Whether this idea of mine has merit or not will be decided after I’ve got the final design down, done all the SEO that can be done, and purchased traffic (along with getting webmaster submissions).

Well, some personal emergencies popped up and took my focus away, and boy, I felt it. The traffic to my sponsors dwindled and died.
The lesson? In the beginning, always make some time to work on your sites every single day until your site starts showing solid, regular results.
And it doesn’t have to be a new article a day, it can be a small post like this. It could be exchanging links with a similar site or a site whose visitors might be interested in what I’ve got to offer. It could be tweaking the site, changing keywords and the meta tag to better optimize it for search engines. Or it could be checking out the various affiliate forums for advice and tips.

I have to say it, I think MLM marketing is going to be going the way of the dinosaurs very very soon. The average potential online marketer just does not want to build “downlines”, buy leads or any of the other tricks of the MLM Trade to make money. So, if MLMs are the past, what is the future? Affiliate marketing, and marketing in niches. They are the way to go today if you are young and eager to make a lot of money, in a relatively short amount of time. Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that affiliate marketers never have to work a single day in their lives and just rake in the cash while sitting out by the pool. In fact, there is quite a bit of work to be done before even one sale can be made. Trying out a little experiment. I had joined a bunch of those “Paid to Surf” programs years ago, in an attempt to get people to join my “downlines” in all those different MLMs I had joined. The way the Paid to Surf (or P2S, I call ‘em) works is, they put an automated “surfbar” that will rotate through the program members’ websites. The idea is that one of the surfing members will see your ad, get excited, click and sign up.
The problem was, we were all putting the same “cookie cutter” like SFI (and others) that we had already joined. Basically–we were preaching to the choir.
Now, I’ve been going on and on about MoreNiche and their new Online Marketing School, Making You Richer, a lot.
